What or who is a Journeyman?
A journeyman is a man (or woman) who has completed an apprenticeship and is fully educated in a trade or craft, but not yet a master.
The title refers to the journeyman's right to charge a fee for each day's work.

Is a journeyman required when an apprentice is working on plumbing?
Yes. According to Alberta Government Regulations
5(3)
Subject to subsection (2), supervision by a journeyperson must
be available for an apprentice at a work site
